Sonic Softball

Ryan has been playing softball (Co-ed) on a Sonic team, with the other owners and some of their employees and wives. They've had two games so far, these pictures are from their game last week. The boys brought signs to hold up and we loved watching Daddy play- he did awesome and we were so proud of him!

Coming Up

When we got home tonight, I put Jason on the floor at the bottom of a small set of stairs in our home, and he went right up them! I had to grab the camera and get him to do it again, he did it so fast!

Look what else we had coming up when we got home- more zucchini!

St. George

We went to St. George this weekend with my sister and her husband and family. We visited with some of our folks that live there and had an action packed three days! It was fun and we were sad to leave so soon!

Lemonade For Sale

So all summer, the boys have been begging me to let them do a lemonade stand. In my mind, I keep having flash backs to when we were kids and had lemonade stands, and it was a)boring,
b) hot, hot, hot c)never had much success.
I decided to let the boys do it, and learn for themselves if it was something they would want to do again.
They did fabulous! They stayed out for about 2 hours ( I was nearby in the shade). They would stand up and wave and smile at each passing car. They had a little bucket of water, and when they got hot, they would take their hats off, pour some water on themselves, comment on how refreshed they felt, put their hats back on, and sit down and go at it again. They made about $24 between them, of course the first bunch came from their adoring grandparents, but they still had lots of customers, and were so adorable and worked so hard! One lady came back again, and said it was worth a quarter just seeing how cute they were!

Dirt, Anyone?

After church, we sometimes go for a hot dog roast and s'mores in a near-by
canyon. The boys like to float boats in the little creek and go "hiking"up steep hills, so they can
slide on their bums all the way down. Yep, they get covered in dirt and they love it!
Doesn't this picture make you cringe for that clean baby flesh?

Cutie Pie

This is Jason's Funny Face.
He does this all the time! While he does it, he is breathing in and out quickly
through his nose, and scrunches up his
face and looks so mad, but he really isn't, and its soooo funny!

Here's my toothless, happy boy at 10 months old!

Houston, We have Zucchini!

As I was taking this picture, I said, "Smile, like you're happy to have a garden!"
Apparently, what they heard was, " Freeze a smile on your face and act like a fruit cake!"

This year we went out on a limb, and planted a tiny garden. When I say tiny, I mean tiny. It went more like this: Ryan, " Honey, we should do a garden so the boys can play in the dirt. "
Jeralyn, "Where Sweet Lips?"
"Oh, how bout that lil' spot o' ground, where nothin' but weeds gro' , Ma Dear"
Then, we looked at each other, and said in unison, " If it grows, it grows, if not, it doesn't". Or, something to that effect, anyways. So, we made a tiny little bed, where we planted, about 6 corn stalks, a zucchini plant, and a tomato plant. We actually planted some pumpkins, too, but we haven't seen them, they don't write. Anyhoos, we don't do much watering, because the neighbor's sprinkler does a fine job getting it over the fence for us.
The tomato plant gave us two tomatoes, the corn got shredded by a hail storm, yet seems to be surviving, and all be, we do have a zucchini or two or twenty coming along all right.

Preschool Starts

Cameron had his first day of preschool for the year. This will be his second year, this time he is in the 4 yr old class. Notice our snazzy blue socks, that don't quite go with our shirt? You Know Who, insisted on wearing his favorite socks. At first I tried to be positive and said, "Okay, do you want to wear them with pants?" NO. Then I was more blunt, "Umm, Cameron, they don't match your shirt". Then I remembered that my first day of Joy School, I was really excited to wear a shirt that I believe was a hand me down from an older uncle or cousin or some other older Male. It had dark colored stripes on it and looked rather boyish, but I sure wanted to wear it, and my mom didn't bat an eye. So, I decided, heck, if the kid wants to wear these socks because they are his favorite, why not? And in his words, "They look Sharp", don't they.

Olympic Moments

With the Olympics now upon us, I always think of my favorite Olympic moment, that I watched as it unfolded on the TV in our living room. The name Kerri Strug was then embedded in my mind. You can watch the clip on Youtube, here:

Ryan remembers the moments of Dan Jansen, here in a nice little clip from Youtube, as well.

What do you remember?
We're watching the Opening Ceremonies that we recorded, pretty rad.

First Day Of Kindergarten

Blake had his first day of Kindergarten this week! All morning as we were getting ready, I kept thinking to myself, "When did he get so tall?","When did he get so handsome?", "When did he become such a BIG Boy?"

He was pretty excited, right up until we actually got there, then when he reached for my hand to guide him over to where he was supposed to line up, I knew he was a wee bit nervous.

Here he is giving his little subtle wave as they march in. I'll admit, I got a little misty eyed as I was taking pictures at home before we left. I was thinking about how my parents took pictures of me on my first day of school, and now here I am, all 'grown-up', taking picutes of my baby as I send him off to school. I also got a wee bit teary-eyed, as I gave him one last hug before saying good-bye at the school. I don't know why, I know he'll do great, just something to the effect of how the years are flying by, and now they'll probably fly faster, now that he is in school, and all those days at home all these years are now coming to a close, and I hope I spent enough time with him, loving him, and teaching him, and enjoying him.
