My Big Boy

B got a "Climbing Higher" Award at school today,

for "Always following the rules at School"

Yah, that's my kid.

~

The other night my husband was trying to teach me some self defense moves and strategies.

B, upon seeing what was going down (or WHO was going down) asked why Daddy was teaching Mom these things.

Daddy: "Because Mom doesn't take Karate everyday like you do"

B: "But, Dad, I'm with her like every day"

Daddy: "So you would protect Mom?"

B: [demonstrating a karate punch combo]

"Yes, of course I would!"

a-a-chooooos!

While driving in the car, I hear a sneeze from J in the backseat.

C: [disgusted tone of voice] "Mom, J just got a-choos on my hand!"

The next day:

Mom: "C, how are you feeling today?"

C: "I still have the a-a-choos"

Love it.
Never want to tell them the real word for the forceful,
uncontrollable act of blowing boogers out our noses.

Birthday Boy

You've Had a Birthday
Shout Hoo-Ray!
Hoo-Ray!

Because my husband is a busy, hard working man,

who is always so thoughtful and generous towards me,

I decided to plan a little get-away for him

"To Do Nothing" or "Do Whatever You Want"

However you want to put it.

With the willingness of nearby family,

(Thank You, Thank You!)

I was able to get the kids taken care of for

the night, and stretching into the deep evening

of the next day, too.

This is how it went:

Upon arrival home from work Friday, he found that his lovely

wife and sweet children were not home,

and found a note on the back door,

giving him short instructions to change his clothes

and come here

Where I met him

and explained that in honor of his birthday

we were going to do whatever he wanted to do.

And so we did.

we had a very enjoyable and savory meal here,

lounged and watched movies

ate dessert in bed, and

slept in till way tooooo late Saturday

morning, yet loved it, and

had time for some phantom singing to Michael Buble.

Then we ran a few important errands,

spent a whole bunch of time at Emergency Essentials,

and had lunch here:

A crowd favorite

And then we spent several hours
getting his new office all organized and
set up and saving it from
the horrible disaster it had become.
His words, not mine
He was so grateful!

On the actual day of the birthing that took place all

those great big years ago,

(Thanks to Mamma T)

we had our traditional breakfast in bed

Enjoyed by all

And the family over for a real birthday treat

the "Cold Pans",
Devoured by all.
Happy Birthday,
I Love You Babe.

Walking with the Dinosuars

We went to a show called

"Walking with the Dinosaurs" Saturday night.

They had life size, moving dinosaurs and it was pretty awesome!

You should have heard the roar on this Mama T-Rex,
gave me some serious competition!

A Good Place to Sit

I was doing some home painting on Saturday (touch-ups, trim/baseboards and in the laundry room),
and look who found a good place to sit.
He sat there for quite a while just laughing and jabbering.
Mighty pleased with ones self.

Jer's Scraps

I've decided that perhaps once in awhile I shall post some of the digital scrapbook lay outs that I've been working on, as it is something I rather enjoy doing.

Here is some that I did this past week,

yes unfortunately the subject matter is me, and it involves me being great with child.

It is from a kit called Shabby Correspondence by Lori Johnston

Nice

C: pointing to his nostril, "I have lots of boogers in this hole"

Me:"Oh, do you need a tissue?"

C: "No, I already got them out with my finger"

New Year's Resolutions?

Can't quite decide what to work towards in improving in yourself for the coming year?

Perhaps I can give you something to strive for.

I give to you, "Things I am really good at, that you probably wish you were good at, too":

Picking things up with my toes. Handy, or shall we say toey little things down there! After a long day of bending over and over and over, I find that my toes are quite good at grasping cars, or pencils, or torn up paper, or even scattered clothing.
Your back may thank you.

Yeah, that's a good one.

Folding laundry. Sometimes I can see myself in some county fair contest, where they have piles of laundry and the contestants line-up and wait for the whistle blow and I'm off! Whipping and flinging those clothes right side out and tossing them to and fro! Theres shirts, and pants, and me-oh-mi's and bibs and towels and sheets and baby onesies. And to turn up the heat in the final minutes its a tight race of match those socks and get 'em rolling!
All I can say is, "Eat my Dust, Bunnies!"

Cleaning toilets. Four boys in the house- 'nuff said. I'm good at it.

Tossing. That would be as in tossing those crumbs or sippy cups or stray forks into the sink. It took some practice, so don't get down on yourselves, I've finally been able to master the strength of the throw mixed in with the length from me to the sink and the weight of the object and trajectory, etc. and whow-la, in the sink everytime.

So, I don't mean to toot my own horn or anything...
- well, yeah, actually I do mean to, and yes, I'm up there with the best of them.

But I was wondering-
What are some things you're awesome at?
