Lose Your Lunch,
Spew Chunks,
Toss Your Cookies,
Life Doesn't have to be Perfect To Be Wonderful
02.26.10
The Last Friday of the Month,
We have been Affectionately
Calling
Nacho Night,
for the Last Year,
or So.
There are some Clear Set Rules,
When it Comes to Nacho Night:
Everyone has to be in Their Jammies,
The Kids Pick the Movie,
and We Spread Out a Blanket
and make it a Picnic,
While We Munch.
Tonight's Nacho Night
Went Like This:
We Got Off to a Rough Start,
With J Flinging Food from
his Brother's Plate,
And
Stepping in Two Cups of Water,
Before We Even Got Settled.
Tonight's Feature Film:
Beverly Hills Chihuahua,
Then Speed Skating on the Olympics.
Thanks to THIS Self Portrait,
I Was Easily Able to
Identify Who the
Perpetrator Was.
And Thanks to a
Sponge Called Mr. Clean,
His Life Was Spared.
This Book:
These Shoes
That I've Gazed At
Longingly,
in My Closet,
Waiting for the
Snow to Melt.
And This
Brown Paper Package,
Tied Up With String,
That My Friend
Made
and
Mailed To Me,
Containing Several Lovely Clothespins
that She Made
Once the Romance Squashers
(aka Kids)
Were In Bed,
I made a Late
Dinner for Two
Shrimp Scampi.
Bruschetta.
Mint Chocolate Dessert.
Our Favorites,
Paired Perfectly
with a
Good Movie.

C Spent a Good Portion of the Day Flipping through a Sticker Book and Carefully Placing Many Stickers of Various Animals, Here and There, and Everywhere, Throughout its Lovely Landscape Pages.
Said I, "Isn't that B's Sticker Book?"
Said He, "No. He Gave it To Me."
"Well, Sticker Away, Then," Thought I.
The Next Morning
as I was Rushing B out the Door,
A Scuffle Came About between
the Two Brothers.
To the Effect of, "C Used MY Special Stickers in MY Book!"
"Didn't You GIVE that Book to C?" Asked I.
"Yes, But HE Wasn't Supposed to Use the Stickers!"
Oh, Mercy.
I Noticed that C was Quite Busy for the Morning
"Working on Something for B", He would Say,
Coming to Ask Me Every Once In A While
Which Letter it was that Made the "Yah" Sound, or the "Kah" Sound.
After I Took C to School,
and was Putting Things Away,
I Saw This on B's Bed:
The Be Favored Sticker Book,
A Favorite Tote,
Sonic Coupons (Always Handy),
a Lovely Drawing,
and a Note
[That Required Sagacious Thought on My Part]:
"To B,"
"I Am Sorry"
"That I Put Stickers in Your Book"
I got My Bag of Buttons Out the Other day,
and upon seeing My Bag of Lovelies,
the Boys decided to get creative,
asked for some red thread,
and went to work making some
One of Kind Necklaces.
They Gave them to their School Teachers,
with Sweet Notes, all Wrapped Up.
They were So Excited!
B said He thought his Teacher would
Scream, Cry Happy Tears,
and Offer Him $120.00.
[I'm Sure it Crossed her Mind]
