Nacho Night

A New Tradition

The last Friday of the month

at our house will be,

affectionately called,

Nacho Night

{our fourth monthly Nacho Night.}

{see the beans!}

I'm not sure if we decided to start this tradition, so that Mom could make sure I get my monthly quota of nachos met, or for some other reason; like we wanted to start something where at least once a month, we were spending a Friday night hanging out as a Fam.

We thought if we started it now, by the time the boys were older, they would know and look forward to this night, and as schedules and lives get more hectic and filled with outside influences, that this would be a night they would know was for family and nachos,

and not want to miss it.

We put out the goods

(everything from homemade guacamole to jalapenos)

and everyone gets to pile their own.

(Here I will let you in on one of my secrets: I noticed that if I put beans (like kidney or black) on the table, that they didn't get touched. So now, I put them IN every meal I can- especially easy to add to any Mexican dishes, and down they go- without a thought,

and I feel like Super Mom who got her kids to slurp down

some good for you, fruit of the heart.)

Then we lay out a blanket,

munch on our nachos,

and watch a movie the kids have picked out.

This week it was Bolt.

We Love You Nacho Night!

P.S. C tried a jalapeno, brave soul
