Q&A

This is for Brindy, who asked if I did the Cupboards with a Paint Brush or Spray? I used a paint brush for the primer coats, then I used a Foam Roller Brush for the Paint Color and Clear Coats, it give a smooth finish.

For Cindy, who asked about the Flooring: It's Mannington's Golden Nugget, with French Bleed.

Susan asked if I used Oil or Latex Paint on the Wood Cupboards: Latex

LOVE Your BODY 10K

About a Month ago, My Friend asked Me if I wanted to do a 10K with Her. She's always asking Me to Run Races of Insane Distances with Her, and I Always turn Her Down. But not this Time. THIS time I was Like, "Self, Why Not? You've Been Running all Summer and You Won't Feel Like Doing it After You Slack all Winter. Why Not NOW?! It's Now or Never- Just Do it for Pete's Sake!"
So, I Got up the Next Day, and Ran My Usual 3.5 Miles, plus Two More Miles (total of 5.5 miles) and I Felt Great! I Called Her Up, and Said I'd Give it a Whirl. We'd Run on Our Own during the Week, but Saturday Mornings, We'd Meet and Run our Little Hearts Out. I've Run Places and Distances and Hills that I Didn't Think I Could. I've Got Awesome Calluses in New Places, Black and Blue Toe Nails, and I've Started to Crush on Running. It's Become so Exciting for Me!

Yesterday was Our 10K.

It was Rainy, and Chilly and Full of Hills!

But

I DID IT!

Q&A

This is For L. Jones, Who Asked: What the Color in My Kitchen was:
"Sag Harbor" by Valspar. This is the Green Color on the Long Wall, is that the Color You Wanted?

To Sarah, Who Asked: The name of the Thin Brick I used on My Back Splash
and How Much it Cost?
The Brick I Used was Called "Oxford". It was actually a Whole Brick Variety, that they Cut for Us, so it Cost a Wee Bit More (1.00 per Brick, rather than the .60 of the Thin Brick Variety) But With the Cost of the Newly Cut Thin Brick, and the Supplies (the Chicken Wire, Thin Set, and Mortar) it was around $100 for the Whole Project. I Bought 85 Bricks. I Took them My Measurements, and they helped Me Figure Out How many I would Need. It's Amazing what a Difference $100 can Make!

For Brown, Who asked about the Chicken Wire: It's a Type that they use for Tile. So it has little cups, kind of, that are made to hold onto the thin set and hold Mortar for the Bricks. It's Worked Awesome. No Problems- Good and Sturdy!

To Bre, Who asked if She Could Paint those Cupboards ANY Color?
My Personal Opinion? GO For It!!

And Tausha, Who Asked about My Mini Wreaths. I'm Working up a How-To, just for YOU!

And to Everyone Who has Left an Encouraging Note and Pleasantness- THANK YOU!

You've Had a Birthday

{An Angel is Welcomed To Heaven}

September 24th, 2011
We Lost Ryan's Mom.

Marilyn Timmons

1941-2011

She was Plagued with Health Problems Her Whole Life, Including, being the First Known Case of Polio in the State of Idaho, Severe Asthma, Spinal Meningitis, and Congestive Heart Failure. She Also Lost Her Mother suddenly, when she was only 16, and became a Mother Figure to her two younger sisters, the youngest being only 6 years old.

Despite Her health Complications, she Married, and Raised Three Sons. She was a Master of Jokes, Bright Ideas, Silly Games, and Providing Love, Friendship and Smiles to Anyone, and Everyone, though She, Herself, was often in Pain.

If You Look up "Devoted Mother" in the Dictionary, You Will See Her Picture. I have NO Doubt that her World was her Family. My Husband tells me of the Popular Sleep Overs at His House, where His Mom was Always Present and Laughing and Joking with His Friends. She would Declare a "Snow Day", and let Ryan stay home from School, just so they could Hang Out and Have a Good Time together. She Allowed her Front Room, to be Decorated in Michael Jackson Posters and Football Cards. She Cherished every Note and Visit from her Boys and Grandchildren as They've Grown, and She was So Proud of Each of Them. A Couple of Weeks Before Her Passing, she mentioned to Ryan that Her Love for him, just Left Her "Star-Struck" when He was Around.

She Would take the 8 Grand kids on Grand Shopping Adventures to the Toy Store, and Movies, and held an Annual Christmas Cookie Decorating Afternoon, to allow the Parents to go Christmas Shopping while she kept the Kids busy. She Frequently Watched our Boys for Us, so we Could go on a Date. She would have Crafts or Races and Various Activities and Prizes Planned for them. She was So Full of Energy and Life, for a Body that Wouldn't Allow her to get around Like she would have liked in her later Years, especially the Last Several Months.

As we Returned from Vegas, we were met with the news that she was in the Hospital, due to Heart and Lung complications. She spent the Week there, and we went to Visit Her on a Few Occasions, and Could Tell she was Feeling Stronger and Much Better. However, after Being Released and Driving to their nearby Home, an Accident Occurred that left Her with a Head Injury and when the Paramedics arrived, they were Required to use CPR to Revive Her, though she would never gain Consciousness.

Her Heart would Stop Again, that Night, as Her Family Came together to Rally Around and Pray for her, Hoping she Could Hang on, Until her Oldest Son could Arrive from China. However, at Midnight, when Her Dear Loving Heart Stopped for the 3rd and Final Time,

it was Decided to Let Her Go.
She is Missed Very Much.
