Road Trip

Sometimes,
when Dad needs to do a quick Road Trip,
we tag along,
and do Pleasure Things,
while he does Business Things.

Saturday Things:

Run 18 Miles
and
come home to a sweet bouquet of flowers waiting for me,
by one of my biggest fans,

Kids first day of Spring Soccer

First Day of Coaching soccer. EVER.
(with my Co-Partner, my sister)
And our Mr.s coach the older kids' team,

and
a backyard BBQ,
with some dynamic synchronized trampoline routines
(not pictured,
due to the hazard of flash photography during the show,
wink, wink)

Holy Week & Easter

This year for Easter, I found some Great ideas, that I Loved and our Family Loved!
Using this link to Mercy River:
that I found through Pinterest,
I found a whole new way to celebrate Easter ALL week,
involve the kids, AND Teach them!
Every day, for the week leading up to Easter,
we did a little activity, had some learning,
read Scriptures about the Savior's last week,
and some activities involved watching video clips.
If you follow the link above,
she has a plan for each day,
and I stuck pretty close to it!
It's so Great!
Everyday,
the kids were excited for what we were going to do next!

On Passover Thursday,
We (my sister and I) prepared a kid friendly
Passover Feast.
(Ideas, also from the link above)
We met the kids at the door as they came in from school,
and offered them scarves to cover their heads,
had Pandora playing traditional music for us,
and ate by candle light,

The kids absolutely LOVED it!

Also,
from Mercy River, I followed this link:
And this year,
instead of baskets full of garbage,
(I HATE filling their baskets with sugar junk!)
I gave them
Jesus Baskets!
I was THRILLED with this Idea!
Things to lead their Easter thoughts back to Jesus.

However,
we still had a backyard Easter Egg hunt,
because Mr. talked me into letting them have some un-holy fun.
And sugar.

And can I just share one of the things that I looked forward
to doing Easter morning,
with so much excitement that it was ridiculous?
I scared the living day lights outta them
by blasting the Hallelujiah Chorus to rouse them from their slumber!
Hey, Jesus lives, I wanted them to know it,
and be excited about it!
Definitely doing that all again.

04.01.15

1st Grader brought home a seed that they had sprouted at school,
After sitting on my counter for several days,
he invited me outside with him to plant it.
He was very pleased.

Keeping it Simple
St. Patricks Day
Green clovers made by the youngest and stuck up around the place,
maybe some green breakfast,
some Celtic music on Pandora,
and for dinner,
if the cilantro lime shrimp,
could be mistaken for "shamrock shrimp",
I'll go with it.

Could I have this Dance?

for the Rest of My Life
Mr. and the kids snuck downstairs, one evening,
and planned a little dance party for me.
Complete with disco lights,
refreshment table, and mood music!
Each of the boys had picked a song,
and each took their turn dancing with me.
They had been instructed about eye-contact and conversation,
and it was really, really fun to talk with each one!
Even the Mr. had a song picked for a dance with me!

It made me think that one day,
there might be a girl dancing with one of my boys,
and thinking "he is the handsomest, guy ever!"
and about how maybe someday,
I'll be dancing with them at their weddings,
and all the things I'll want them to know,
as they take a bride-
I'm proud of you,
Take good care of her, and
I love you.
