We always Welcome in Christmas Morning,
With Sweet Rolls and the Singing of
"Happy Birthday" to Baby Jesus.
Then We Do This Routine:
and Head Down to See IF Santa Came.
This Year We Were Joined by
Grandma and Grandpa Timmons,
and Aunt Kathy.
We Thoroughly Enjoyed Sharing
This Special Time With Them.
Now, I have to "Write Down" Something Else I Really LOVED about Our Christmas Day. As I was thinking about Christmas Day and How after all the presents are opened, How it seems so Anti-Climatic. And I thought how Funny it is that We look forward to this Day ALL Year Long, and then it seems like We're in such a hurry to get it over. Rush the kids Down, Open the Presents as fast as we can, hurry, hurry, hurry- lunch is waiting or the Other People are getting bored, or whatever the rush seems to be. And I thought: THESE are the moments that We Want. THESE are the Moments that We will MISS when the kids are gone. THIS is what We wait All Year For- Why are We in Such a Hurry to Get it OVER With?
[So We didn't.] [Hurry]
We Let the kids play with their Santa toys to their Hearts Content while we watched. Until well after 9AM. We Opened each gift and Marveled at it, and Enjoyed it and Appreciated it, until close to 1PM.
And I {LOVED} it.
There Wasn't Anything Better, We had to get to.
We Were Doing IT.
and We Didn't clean Up the Mess, and Lunch wasn't Ready, Until Dinner time,
And WE {CHERISHED} EVERY Moment.

I had the same thoughts this year---we wait sooo long for the big day to arrive, and then all of a sudden it's over, and it's done, and that's it. I love just hanging around all Christmas day ---just hanging around. We didn't eat breakfast until 10:30 this year (it helped that the kids ate stocking candy first thing to tide them over)!
Great post--looked like a happy day!
I did that last year...your so behind.
